30-Year Fixed PMMS: 7.03% ▲ from 6.95%

Freddie Mac’s latest weekly average, released September 24, moved up 8 basis points. A year ago, it averaged 6.30%.

Total Mortgage Applications: 1.5% ▼ Weekly

MBA reported overall application volume declined 1.5% for the week ending September 18.

Purchase Applications: 1% ▼ Weekly | 11% ▼ Year Over Year

Purchase applications softened again in the latest MBA survey.

Refinance Applications: 3% ▼ Weekly | Refi Share 39.3% ▼ from 39.4%

Almost 4 out of every 10 mortgage applications are still refinances.

New-Home Sales: 684,000 Annual Pace ▲ 6.4% Monthly | 2.0% ▼ Year Over Year

The Census Bureau reported August new-home sales rose from July’s 643,000 pace.

Existing-Home Sales: 3.98 Million Annual Pace ▼ 2.0% Monthly | 1.2% ▼ Year Over Year

NAR reported August existing-home sales at a 3.98 million annualized pace.
