I've sold a lot of homes in Sevier County, Tennessee, but this one was different. This was my sister-in-law's home, a place where I'd spent so many Christmases and Thanksgivings with family. After her passing, the home went to her two children, and I was the one who helped them sell it. I can still see those kids playing in the yard, still hear the laughter around the Thanksgiving table. And when I walked away for the last time, I swear I could still hear that old house laughing. This wasn't an easy sale. We had probate to work through, a difficult mortgage payoff to obtain, and several obstacles that needed attention. But we worked through every one of them and got the home sold. It reminded me that being a Realtor isn't always about selling houses. Sometimes it's about helping people through something they never wanted to face. You do the best you can, because they're counting on you. That home held a lifetime of memories, and I was blessed to have been part of them. Bittersweet, no doubt. Some houses you sell. Others stay with you forever.
