For a lot of people, yes, especially if the water is part of the dream. From Apollo Beach it's about 25 minutes by boat to downtown Tampa or downtown St. Pete, and about 45 minutes to the Gulf. On weekends our neighbors are out at Beer Can Island and the MiraBay flats. Day to day, the town has grown up fast: Walmart, Starbucks, Chipotle, sushi, bakeries and coffee shops, with Costco and Target expected to open in 2027. The bigger question is which Apollo Beach fits you. Some neighborhoods are social, with activity coordinators and golf carts. Older streets with no HOA give you more freedom.
